About Jim
I catch a lot of grief about being a germophobe. Quite frankly, I think I’m the normal one and everyone else is weird.

I cringe when a waiter serves me a drink glass with his fingers grasping the rim. When sharing a pizza I watch to see which slices left in the box were already pinched in the crust when its adjoining piece was taken. You know you do that. It’s impossible not to. And I use my knuckles at the ATM and to push elevator buttons to keep from “contaminating” my fingertips. In other words, I’m painfully aware of my surroundings and I’m mindful of things that many people take for granted.

I bring up these “quirks” because you can argue that my germophobia makes me a better marketer. In this business the ability to be observant and look at situations and challenges from multiple perspectives is an asset, even if it’s rooted in OCD. Often times a client is so close to his or her product, service or audience that a fresh perspective can lead to new, exciting and effective ideas. So call me. We’ll meet for lunch to talk about your marketing challenges. I’ll bring the hand sanitizer.
