I’ve got this space to fill, so I’ll tell you about how I came into the wonderful world of Visual Communication and Design.

 

My freshman year in high school, I decided to take an elective called Graphic Communications. Not really knowing what it was, I decided to take it because it was just another art class. Making copies, flyers and fooling around with text and image was the basic curriculum. As it turned out, the class ended up being one of my favorites. I just felt comfortable with the projects, teacher and subject matter. However, I never really saw it as a viable profession – that is, until I saw “Graphic Designer” in the credits of my favorite videogame! I was now hooked. My senior year, I applied to the Kent State University School of Visual Communication and Design – and the rest is history.
