CLEVELAND (July 29, 2010) – The Cleveland chapter of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) has announced a change in leadership for the 2010-2011 year. Amanda Vasil, account executive at AKHIA, a public relations and marketing communications firm in Hudson, will serve as the organization's vice president of marketing.
Vasil, a graduate of Kent State University's School of Journalism and Mass Communication, is replacing Daniel Stepanic, marketing director with C.TRAC Information Solutions, after serving on the executive board for one year as an associate board member.
"What I like about direct marketing is that it's a fundamental tool with a strong call to action in a user-friendly format,” Vasil said. "A well-executed direct marketing campaign can generate a positive return on investment without a complicated process.”
In her new role, Vasil will be responsible for the management and execution of all marketing channels, including social media, e-communication, direct mail, public relations and advertising. She will also oversee the chapter's sponsorship program, web development and membership directory.
"Daniel [Stepanic] has left some big shoes to fill, but I'm excited to kick off the 2010 season with a fresh outlook on the chapter's objectives and the value it gives its members,” Vasil said. "The great thing about direct marketing is that it touches so many audiences, but the key to being effective is to be targeted.”
Vasil has been with AKHIA for three years, serving on both its business-to-business and consumer divisions with a focus in media relations, social media and collateral development. You can follow her tweets at twitter.com/vasilicious.
