Kelly McGrath

Account Director/Operations Lead

What I do:
Oversee Americhem, AmTrust , API Foils, Fomo, Mactac and Step2 accounts. Interact with clients, solve problems, mentor employees, assist with AKHIA’s culture committee and anything else that I can fit into my day.

My self-proclaimed title:
Mama McGrath Official Party Planner – I enjoy helping others and giving my two cents worth of advice to employees and basically anyone who will listen, and I LOVE to plan over-the-top birthday parties.

My AKHIA color is Orange and it fits my style because:
It is bright and cheerful!

I get social on:
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.

Me in work mode in one word:
Efficient.

What’s your career AHA! moment?
That true happiness and contentment only come when there is a balance between professional and personal life.

I personally live AKHIA’s Mission Statement by:
Putting myself in my clients’ shoes when it comes to understanding what they need and expect on a daily basis.

What are clients surprised to find out about you?
I grew up doing musical theater and sang a jingle on the radio for a car dealership. I also co-hosted a television show on a local cable channel.

What’s your greatest strength?
Multitasking.

What keeps you up at night?
Nothing. I am usually exhausted by the time I actually go to bed. I am a night owl.

What do you do in your spare time and how does that affect what you do and how you work?
I LOVE to plan birthday parties for my kids or any event for that matter. Planning begins months in advance, and I challenge myself to be creative yet resourceful. No idea is too big or too small. This approach is applied to my client work as well.

What one piece of advice would you give to the 10-year-old you?
You have to first respect and like yourself if you want others to respect and like you.

My idea of perfect happiness is:
Sitting around the table with my family eating my grandma’s homemade sauce – sometimes we just talk, sometimes we break into song. You never know what you are going to get at Sunday dinner.

I wish I knew how to:
Knit a scarf and tap dance.
