All my life I wanted to be a teacher. When I was little, I would pretend I had a
class of students. I would “grade” papers and everything. When I was a senior in
high school, I selected a college that specialized in Early Education (grades
K-3). I was so excited that I was finally going to make my dream a reality! My
freshman year I took one education class–teaching was NOT my thing!
During my sophomore year of utter confusion and frustration–not knowing what to
do with my life–one of my roommates was majoring in Visual Communication Design.
That sounded interesting–I always enjoyed creating things on a computer. I took
a couple of the introduction classes, found that they were my favorite and that
I was actually good at them.
I changed my major and thought to myself that if I could do this for a career and
get paid...life would be good!
