"I caught you a delicious bass."

Account Experience

My mom told me that almost 10 years ago. I remember it fairly well. I had just seen Kent State’s coursework for business management and realized that there was way too much math for me to enjoy that career. It was at that moment that I decided to act on my mother’s wise words. And yes, while it is true that I do enjoy talking, there is something I enjoy just a bit more: listening.

See, listening is a very critical part of talking. If I don’t listen to what you’re saying, what you’re asking, what you truly care about, I can’t reciprocate with something that resonates with you. And we probably won’t share many late night phone calls or cups of coffee.

What about your audience? Do they like what you’re talking about? It’s easy to get caught up with flashy communications, trendy approaches or plans that we think may be correct, but if we don’t listen to what our audience cares about, we’re wasting a lot of good talking.

I love listening to our clients. Their talking inspires me. And it has led to great success and even greater relationships.

(And p.s. – I’m glad I listened to my mom.)
